It is supplied with a 500W integrated amplifier - the S500 Atohm - with adjustable phase and crossover frequency. These monstrous characteristics allow it to find its place in any auditorium, from the large room to the intimate recording studio, including of course the living room of music lovers. For a good connection with the AT21 or AT16, a cut between 45Hz and 55Hz at 12dB per octave is recommended, with a 180-degree phase. This basic setting will likely differ depending on your acoustics and the placement of the subwoofer.

Muscle and style

The Sub AT33 is a large subwoofer, which incorporates the brand's own characteristics. The solid oak sides are beveled and grooved to eliminate unwanted resonances and make listening even cleaner and more transparent. The imitation leather covering is successful: the grain is visible but light, the tension is perfect, and the ash-brown or white colors are particularly timeless and pleasing. Due to its characteristics as a pure extension of the Atlantis Lab speakers, and its more than generous performance, the bass produced can be both discreet and subtle - leading us to wonder if the subwoofer is active; it is enough to turn it off to realize how much its contribution instantly becomes indispensable to us. But it can also let loose, especially in home cinema , and make the moment jubilant by its imperiousness. In all cases, the response is transparent, clean and precise, presenting an absence of compression and low distortion. But this paradox is the prerogative of the best, and in both cases it results in a well-deserved addiction.
