Attractive specifications

The AT21C is a two-way speaker with three drivers. The high section is handled by a 1-inch compression driver with a titanium diaphragm, coupled with an “Atmos” profile horn. The mid-bass is handled by a pair: a 21 cm driver on the front and a 13 cm driver located at the rear. Their combination and positioning intelligently combine high efficiency, small volume, transparency in filtering and surprising extension in the bass. The front speaker is high efficiency and has a very light paper cone. Its transparency is striking. On the rear panel, the small woofer allows you to go very low thanks to a structurally very low resonance. Very concretely, the AT21C actually reaches 35 Hz (at -1 dB). This central channel is the ideal choice to accompany  Atlantis Lab floorstanding speakers and, why not, a SUBAT33 or SUBAT54 subwoofer  . Its efficiency is 96 dB/1W/1m, which is impressive considering its size and bandwidth. The power handling is very substantial with 250 Watts nominal, which allows it to be happily combined with any amplifier, whether high or moderate power.

A central speaker under the sign of performance

The AT21C will naturally find its place under your television or projection screen. It is advisable to let the rear of the speaker breathe due to the active rear speaker. The imitation leather covering is well done: the grain is visible but light, the tension is perfect, and the ash-brown or white colors are particularly timeless and elegant. The sides are made of oak worked with several bevels and grooves to provide additional rigidity and absorption of parasitic resonances. The terminal block at the rear was made in France according to exclusive specifications. It is of very fine craftsmanship, made of a high-conductivity copper alloy. The tightening is firm and easy. Bananas, forks, and bare wire are accepted. The horn starter is discreet and perfectly integrated into the front panel. The whole is well executed and will integrate harmoniously on (or in) a piece of furniture or even on a dedicated  ATStand stand (available individually).

The watchwords: realism and immersion

The first impression the AT21C gives is a prodigious level of definition linked to a dynamic range rarely achieved on a central channel. All sound information slips into the ears in a legible and easy manner. Here, the slightest nuance, the slightest whisper or background noise is audible. Neutrality being part of Atlantis Lab's DNA, the viewer benefits from precise and realistic sound reproduction. The voices sound very true, very natural, as they would be in real life. The openness and immersion are perfect: the viewer is plunged into the heart of the action and the dialogues. By its quality and its performances, this central voice will leave more than one... speechless!
